It is a kitesurfing spot for riders of Any Level. Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from NW . The spot presents a few things you need to be careful about. Please refer to the Riding Conditions section below.
How to get there
NW of Hout Bay. Pass Little Lions Head on its south side and you will get to the little bay, which is just to your left when hitting the ocean.
Wind and Weather Conditions
Long wetsuits needed all year round - although people were seen in shorties some times. Air around 30°C in the summer, down to 15°C in the winter. The water is pretty cold, around 10-15°C in the summer and 13-17°C in the winter. The longer the South Easter (prevailing summer wind) blows, the colder the surface water gets. Doesn't matter much in summer though. Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from NW . Wind usually blows from S and NW on the spot.
Beach and Tide Conditions
Sandy Bay Beach, South Africa is a Medium waves spot. The launching/landing area is reported to be of Medium size. Nice little bay with sand and cliffs/rocks at both ends. It's a nudist beach. No info yet.
